Tour Orinoco-Delta

The name Orinoco translated into the Indian language Warao means "father's river". The river formed the delta in a period of millions of years into one of the biggest in the world with the shape of an almost perfect triangle, widening up to 370 Kms on the coast side of the Atlantic Sea. Its surface is 40.240 square kilometers covered with marshy forests and mangrove woods and with its numberless small rivers called "caños" inhabited by an infinity of interesting fauna and flora. Due to the marshy zone and the tides the Warao Indians live in pile-houses called "palafitos".
In "Tucupita", capital of the state of Delta Amacuro we begin our interesting tour by boat to the Orinoco Delta and Warao settlements.
